- No excessive vulgar language or profanity.
- No threatening, abusive or harassing comments. Be kind to
others.
Please don't forget that you are talking to living feeling human beings
on these boards. The Internet can be dehumanizing and you may be
tempted to say things on the board that you would never say to
someone's face.
- Be patient. Not everyone has the same level of knowledge
about
posting. Consider cutting "newbies" (new participants) some slack.
- Do an occasional spot check: Am I holding myself back too
much in
fear of looking silly or "causing trouble?" On the flip side, in my
enthusiasm for sharing ideas, am I becoming a board/list hog?
- No slanderous or libelous posts - Knowingly making false
claims
about a company, organization or an individual are prohibited
- While we encourage lively debate, we will not tolerate
personal
attacks. Any person attacking another visitor will receive a warning
and possibly have their message removed. Any future incident
thereafter, will be escalated in a fashion the moderators deem
appropriate. Harassing, offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing
communications - including those aimed at gender, race, religion,
national origin, or disability will absolutely not be tolerated.
- Do not engage in "flame-wars" or excessive exchange of
confrontational postings. Debate is important, but users should not try
to "pick a digital fight."
- No advertising or product marketing - No commercial ads
allowed.
An advertisement is categorized as an outright attempt to solicit
business. All such posts can be edited at the sole discretion of the
moderators. Consider your choices wisely.
- The posting of copyrighted, trademarked, or
otherwise protected material is strictly prohibited.
- No spamming - Do not post the same message repeatedly.
Duplicate
posts will be deleted.
- Forum rules and guidelines are not up for debate. This is a
private forum. Site Moderators operate this ship in how they perceive
it best benefits the majority.
- No impostors allowed. Impersonators will not be tolerated.
Report
violations ASAP. Allowing an individual to sign in with your account
who has been suspended or banned will result in instant suspension.
Site logs are checked on a regular basis; if you sign in from Texas,
then 10 minutes later from Ohio, this is evidence of account sharing.
- Your IP address is logged when you use the message board.
If your
messages are deemed harmful, your account, E-mail address, and IP
address can be banned from entering the site again. We reserve the
right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. We reserve
the right to remove your access to the forum or disable your posting
ability for any or no reason whatsoever. It is easy to Ban, but
requires more teamwork on the members half to unban than most
moderators or members are willing to stand. Once banned, unless you are
intent on becoming a member in good standing again, it takes time and a
lot of patience.
Who runs this Site? Along with Admin, we currently have volunteer site
moderators that have been entrusted to conduct the daily operations of
the site.
Interactive discussion lists and boards, e-mail lists and web sites all
over the world wide web adopt the guidelines outlined by by Arlene
Rinaldi in her the book:
The
Net:
User Guidelines and Netiquette.
Many of the above guidelines are adapted from the book. Used with
permission of the author.
PRIVACY
We are
committed to honoring the privacy of our members and visitors. This
privacy policy, covers personally identifiable information within our
service.
What information does The
Gestalt
Therapy Network Forums receive and
how do we use it?
Like most web sites, we
use small bits
of data called cookies stored on
users' computers to simulate a continuous connection. Cookies let us
"remember" information about your preferences and passwords and allow
you to move within our Service without reintroducing yourself on each
visit. Recent versions of most browsers let you easily see and control
cookies.
May I choose what
information I
disclose?
Absolutely! The only things required are your first and last name (to
protect the Forums) a desired username and
password, and a valid email address. Everything else is optional.
Member lists are not available to the public or other
members.
What
if I need to review or change the personal information I
previously disclosed?
You may have noticed that in the interest of privacy for our members,
unlike other web discussion boards, we choose to protect your anonymity
-- we do not have extensive Member Profiles with public access or
inter-member access. We do want you to update the minimal
information you supply Board
Administrators with if there are any changes. You can easily correct or
update your minimal personal information at any time via your Profile
Manager.
What if I want to cancel
my
"membership" in a Gestalt Therapy Network
Forum?
You can cancel your membership in this Forum/Discussion Board
at
any time by going to your Profile Manager (click link
"User" at
top of
page). Scroll down your Profile page and at the bottom will
be an
option to delete your account, which erases all your information
(username, e-mail address, password and name) from the Board
Administration files and ends your membership.
What kind of security is
used to
protect my information?
We store all user information in secure databases protected via a
variety of access controls. This data is accessed only for the purposes
specified in this privacy statement.
Who has access to my
information?
We do not sell, rent, give or by any other means provide user list's of
info to anybody. Period. Since this site is privately funded, no
outside influence is felt.
What about children's
information?
Only Children over 13 are authorized access to The Gestalt Therapy
Network Forums, and only with a Parents Permission.
